Want to say a big thank you for everyones support over the years. During the years trapped inside with chronic health problems the main thing that kept me going was a belief that one day I would come out the other side, and be able to achieve success through music. I don’t have a label, and sometimes pushing these things as hard as I want becomes a massive challenge, and I find myself frustrated that there aren’t enough hours in the day to push it as far as I want to. I would love to ask a favour to anyone who has ever enjoyed my music over the years, and it will only take a few minutes of your day.It would mean the world to me if you shared ‘Hi Ren’ as much as you can, over social media platforms, with friends, over email. Together, and with your help I can hopefully reach people all over the world, and get one step closer to the dream I always had! Thank you so much for the support so far! I take home ¥300,000–350,000 ($1,875–$2,188) a month. Today I recorded everything — where I saved, and where I spent. At Uniqlo I refused a paper bag to save ¥20, right after spending ¥6,980 on two pieces of clothing. That's roughly how my money works. At Nitori I brought a list, because small things add up. I still bought the big tray, and the bigger bowl. At 7-Eleven, a smoothie and a premium baumkuchen. Student me would have asked where that money was supposed to come from. At the supermarket, one pear at ¥280 — they used to be ¥100, and they're still my favourite fruit. Then home, mushroom udon, and ten centimetres of cling film saved. Total for the day: ¥16,220 ($101.38). Laid out like that, it doesn't add up. Is this being tight with money? Or the worries of someone comfortable? I think it depends on where you grew up, and where you're standing now. This is just one example, from one 32-year-old Japanese office worker. After work walks, simple meals, and quiet time spent alone at night — nothing special, just daily life flowing together with the calm atmosphere of this town. Filming, editing, subtitling — it's all one person, beside a job full of overtime. There are things I've been quietly thinking about: what I can promise, what I can't, and how to keep this going for a long time without breaking it. I say all of it honestly at 30:23 in this video. Have a listen before you decide anything.
