Yes I said it. Trey Songz is the current reigning King of R&B. While there have been a number of recent artists making noise in the R&B world, Raheem DeVaughn, Case, Usher, and Dwele to name a few, no other comes close to Trey Songz' recent success. This EP showcases not only some of his hits from his 2009 "Ready" album but also his amazing vocal and performing talents.
Also in defense of Trey in his beef with R.Kelly, most apparent in "Death to Kellz", Trey is criticizing Kelly for his RECENT music. Trey does go about paying his respects to Kelly by calling him a legend, and explaining what Kelly has done for Trey's own career and for black people. And in my opinion R.Kelly's recent music is whack. Simply put, he has fallen into the auto tune fad and has done nothing but profited off the "ringtone music industry".
With Trey's soulful voice, writing ability, story telling, relative subject matter, mixtape hustle, genre versatility, performance skills, and constant hard work, Trey Songz is a true artist and current KING of Rhythm and Blues.
