Since the first time I heard them, I've been addicted. The title track is a favorite - amen corner is another fantastic album. Don't spend another day without a Railroad Earth fix.
Song driven band that adds fine musicianship

The songwriting is exemplary and the music explores with a purpose. Which is why they are sometimes compared with the Grateful Dead, another melody driven band that expanded the theme in the jam.
Check out their entire catalogue and I think you'll agree.

Alot of reviews on amazon have compared this to GD's American Beauty....I don't know about that, but it sure is a great album. It's jamband, but you just can't quite put your finger on what type. All I know is it is great original american music. You have to hear it to believe it....and being so different, it might take a listen or two to grow on you...then most likely you will be hooked. Highlights for me are: Cold Water, Colorado, and Railroad Earth.
