This album signifies his best work. A very deep very instrumental album with many layers of sound throughout. In my mind the best song on the album is the title track. Cacade starts slow and builds with layers of music which continues to show his expanding musical diversity. The album contains great work. Mercy Rain and Sails Wave Goodbye are underated gems. This is clearly one of Murphy's best solo works. Wild Birds is also a classic. I root for Murphy's continued exploration of this style. Peter Murphy deserves more critical acclaim!

This album brings back memories. Peter Murphy is such an underated artist. I'm digging up my old vinyl of Peter Murphy and now downloading this amazing album: Cascade. Peter, you are brilliant. I'm looking forward to seeing him perform at The Fillmore on Dec 4, 2011.

This is Peter at his best again. I can't recommend it enough. "Huuvola" has the most amazing vocals and really shows his talents. Unfortunately the sample does not show where he goes with it. Lyrically, "Cascade" is fantastic... "We call to stillness, As we kiss the water king's hand, We hear the one same name, As the darker the land gets...".
Mercy Rain is also amazing. If you like his work, this is one of the great ones.
Great Album

The whole album is a wonderful soundscape. Great escape and relax album. Don't try to figure out the words or what they mean just go with the music and Peter Murphey as he takes you on a great journey. Excellent, like all his albums...kudos to the Godfather of Goth.
Unbelievably Excellent

If you are a fan of Peter Murphy's single, "Cuts You Up" (from his masterpiece "Deep"), this album will not disappoint. The only weak track on it is "The Scarlet Thing In You," which was also unfortunately the only single from the album. I have often wondered if Mr. Murphy would have had more success with this endeavor if the single had been another track -- such as "I'll Fall With Your Knife" or "Cascade." He may have risen in the charts once again and truly become a household name. This album is at least equal to "Deep," and, in the last two tracks ("Huuvola" and "Cascade"), it gives a slight hint to Peter's future direction that is fully realized in his following album "Dust." Any fan of Peter's early work will love this album.
